Hi Erik,
Unfortunately I have to attend to my other duties until week 35 has
come and gone (a hard deadline is looming), but you can do something
yourself. Please install this somewhat loudly yelling BES on the
Windows box:
http://www.42tools.com/sites/default/files/downloads/brutus-enterprise-install.exe
Please do not change "brutus.conf" as it is now. Now make sure that
BES and Lorica is started on the Windows server and Lorica on the
client laptop. Then execute the C sample on the client laptop:
$ cd ~/work/src/brutus-idl/samples/C/client/
$ ./brutus_client
Please send me the new "brutus.log" from the server and the terminal
output from the C sample. I'll try to get some time to look at it in
my spare time.
The current status on this bug hunt is that my test setup here on my
desk (multiple VMware boxes) is working due to a configuration fix
that I've also implemented on your site. Unfortunately there is still
something not working on your site and I have a hard time trying to
figure out what it may be.
Let me summarize the fix that made it work here:
1) The server side Lorica was configured with the internal endpoint on
localhost.
2) The client side Lorica is configured to reach the IFR which is
collocated by the server side Lorica.
3) The problem was that the IFR reference the client side Lorica got
from the server side Lorica referred to the server side internal
endpoint.
4) So the client side Lorica got a reference to an IFR on localhost!
5) That would naturally not work as localhost on the client did not
expose any IFR.
6) Changing the server side Lorica internal endpoint from localhost to
10.0.199.21, and updating the BES configuration accordingly, nicely
fixed that cross-wiring problem.
So now the sample application can log onto Exchange which it could not
do before. Unfortunately it receives a CORBA_UNKNOWN exception
whenever it attempts to execute a non-trivial method on the returned
IMAPISession object. A simple ping() is working but a
GetServerVersion() is not. I've therefore put a try{} catch{} block
around the entire function code and filled it with log messages to
trace where the problem is.
It is very strange as GetServerVersion() works just fine here, and at
other places, except in your network. Was Outlook ever present on the
Windows box?
Best regards,
jules
Post by PCextreme B.V. - Lennert den TeulingHi Jules,
Sorry I didn't respond on your email earlier, I needed to go to
Amsterdam again. (The next time I will tell you it in advance)
I just powered on the latop and the rdp connection.
I'm excited that you found a solution :)
Met vriendelijke groet,

Hi Erik,
I got my test setup to work here, now I just hope that it will work in
your settings too :-)
Could you please turn on the laptop and open the RDP connection? I
need to update Lorica on the server and change one line in the Brutus
Server configuration.
Thanks,
jules

Post by PCextreme B.V. - Lennert den TeulingHi Jules,
No problem, I just added the updated logfile as an attachment.
You can try to connect (RDP) to the brutus server only from the
laptop. (The brutus server is internal only).
The password for the server is the same as for the brutus user ;)

Post by PCextreme B.V. - Lennert den TeulingHi Jules,
That is great news, I added the brutus log file as an attachment.
Thanks. I need the log one more time (sorry). Would it be possible to
get VNC to the Brutus server box too? In that way I won't need to ask
for the log each time I need it.
Best regards and thanks,
jules

Thanks. I've got some progress to report (I can now connect), but
there seems to be a little problem with the server. Could you please
send me the server log so that I can take a look at it?
Thanks,
jules
